Olthof/MMP BV launched the new trade magazine "DW+ Therapist Magazine" on February 16. This magazine targets independent druggists, therapists, orthomolecular practitioners and nutritionists. Published six times a year, the magazine offers industry news, shares experiences and allows specialists to speak. DW+ Therapist Magazine primarily reaches around 4,000 independent therapists, whether or not they are affiliated with a therapist center. In addition, in cooperation with the DW Newspaper, the magazine is also distributed to around 450 independent druggists.

VNV chooses Elma Media as media partner

Early this year, the Association of Dutch Fish Specialists (VNV) selected Elma Media as its media partner. The VNV informs its members through its website, digital newsletters published biweekly, and social media. The quarterly magazine 'De Visspecialist', previously published twice a year, is now published four times a year in a circulation of 1,700 copies. The next edition will be published March 29, and ad sales will be handled by Elma Media.

Pijper Media is acquiring NOUVEAU from DPG Media as of March 1, 2024. This acquisition strengthens Pijper Media's glossy portfolio, which includes titles such as Elegance and Grazia. For DPG Media, the sale aligns with their strategy to accelerate digital growth within the women's segment, with an emphasis on leading brands such as Libelle, Margriet, and Flair, focused on making social impact.

NOUVEAU targets stylish 45+ women and is published 12x a year and has a circulation of over 28,000 copies. In addition, NOUVEAU has an online platform and inspiring social media channels, with a daily online reach of 70,000 women, who are informed about the latest trends in fashion, beauty, art, health, lifestyle, royalty and travel. The new editor-in-chief will be Sandra ten Brink.

Vrij Nederland continues independently

From April 1, 2024, Vrij Nederland will continue independently, led by Sander Heijne. Vrij Nederland will be owned by a new BV. The magazine will cooperate with Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam for independent journalism. The paper magazine will remain and there will be more online content, such as articles, podcasts and videos. In recent times, Pakhuis de Zwijger has invested heavily in opportunities to create online programs. With the privatization of Vrij Nederland, WPG Uitgevers can fully concentrate on publishing books and audiobooks.

From 1 March 2024, Hillenaar Outdoor will add a new digital advertising mast to its portfolio along the A17 near Roosendaal. Enter Media has changed the names of several titles in its portfolio.The edition of BussumsNieuws, including NaarderNieuws and MuiderNieuws, will be called 'GooiseMerenNieuws' as of Jan. 24, 2024.De Gooi en Eembode has adopted the title 'HilversumsNieuws' as of February 1, 2024.The Nieuwsblad voor Huizen will be called 'HuizerNieuws' as of December 21, 2023, and Laarder Courant de Bel will be called BELNieuws as of January 1, 2024. All titles also have associated websites.

RadioCorp has become Mediahuis Radio

From 1 January 2024, Mediahuis has merged all its radio activities in the Netherlands under the name Mediahuis Radio, formerly known as RadioCorp BV. Mediahuis Radio is now the home of Radio Veronica, 100% NL, SLAM!, Sublime and Sunlite. Together they reach about 4.5 million listeners every week. Spot advertising sales for these stations remain the responsibility of One Media Sales. For non-spot advertising (branded content) and multimedia campaigns, clients can contact the sales department of Mediahuis Radio. With this move, Mediahuis' radio operations in the Netherlands have been separated from Audiohuis Amsterdam, the organisation that focuses on podcasts and on-demand audio.

Kink takes over FM frequencies from Decibel in the Randstad region

Kink is taking over Decibel's regional FM frequencies in the Randstad and will broadcast on five FM frequencies in North Holland, South Holland and Utrecht from 23 January 2024. This will allow Kink to expand their reach in the Randstad region and for listeners in the car. Radio Decibel will stop broadcasting on FM and DAB+ from 14 January 2024 and continue as an online station, focused on strengthening its online community and a platform for 90s music fans.

With effect from 1 January 2024, Eisma Media Group will take over the trade title Klusvisie from Sanders Media. Klusvisie consists of a magazine, newsletter and website, and targets handymen, self-employed construction workers and small contractors. Klusvisie will now merge with ZO!Bouw, another brand of Eisma Media Group, which also focuses on this target group. ZO!Bouw will merge into the title Klusvisie and will be published six times a year in 2024. In addition, the accompanying website will offer daily practical trade information and relevant content.

New package 'The Loop' from Ocean Outdoor Netherlands

Since the end of November 2023, Ocean Outdoor Netherlands has been offering its new network 'The Loop'. The Loop offers a network of 65 full-motion screens in two shopping centres: Westfield Mall of the Netherlands and Shoppingcenter Overvecht. Westfield has 26 totems and welcomes 14.5 million visitors annually. Overvecht has 12 totems and attracts 7.2 million people annually. Ster acquires sales operations of ORN

As of January 1, 2024, Ster (Stichting Ether Reclame) will sell the advertising space on 13 regional TV and radio stations for national advertisers. Ster is thus taking over the sales activities of Omroep Reclame Nederland (ORN). DPG Media's Kidsweek is published in tabloid format as of September 7. This larger format offers more space for news, stories, jokes, puzzles and comics. The newspaper, for children aged 7-12, includes special Samsam stories 10 times a year on topics such as democracy and sustainability. Kidsweek's website has also been revamped with new content such as film reviews and quizzes. The accompanying teaching method has also been updated with lessons on reading comprehension, world orientation and citizenship.

Looking at the popularity of magazine brands by social media channel, we see clear differences. On visual platforms, such as Pinterest and Instagram, the accounts of women's brands, glossies, living and mind & body magazines are particularly popular. On YouTube, automotive, sports and youth magazines are popular. On TikTok, of course, youth magazines are also active and have large groups of followers. On Facebook, we see a more variable picture of popular magazine accounts. Within the magazine media industry, Twitter is dominated by opinion and sports.

As an advertiser, you want the target audience to remember your message. To do this, you establish a link with the audience through a campaign, so that your message is deeply felt or understood. The ultimate goal is for your message to penetrate straight to the heart of the target audience, leaving a lasting impression.

This musical tribute, the Retriever Suite, was composed especially for Retriever and its relations by Viktoriya Anastasova. The Suite symbolises the harmony between data and creativity in media planning.
