Sources & Transparancy

Retriever makes the sources behind the Media News section visible

Transparency is central to Retriever’s approach. For media data, rates and audience figures in the Retriever database, the source of the information should always be clear. The same principle now also applies to the Media News section.

As you read on, you will spot them: the new Sources & Transparency links.

Across the media landscape, news is distributed, picked up and summarised faster than ever, increasingly by automated systems and AI applications. As a result, the original source of a story can easily become obscured.

The news items compiled by Retriever are based on identifiable sources and undergo editorial review before publication.

From now on, every item clearly shows which sources were used. Where relevant, the item also indicates whether the factual information has been confirmed by the media organisation concerned. This applies to all items published here under Media News that may subsequently be included in the monthly newsletter. This keeps media news timely and easy to follow, while also making it verifiable and traceable.

My most recent discovery is Caffè Speciale: a blend of espresso, amaretto, cream, sugar, and a hint of lemon zest. Fortunately, it’s only available in Polignano a Mare, Italy, because it’s probably not the healthiest thing for you.
