De Jonge Lezer

Kompas Publishing and Winston Ventures acquire De Jonge Lezer

Kompas Publishing and Winston Ventures, the investment company of Cor Jan Willig, have acquired De Jonge Lezer. The company focuses on children and young people through magazines such as Tina, Penny, MEIDEN and STOER, as well as events including the Tina Festival and Horse Event.

De Jonge Lezer will continue to operate under its own name. Its existing media brands, employees and offices in Alkmaar and Utrecht will remain unchanged. Chief Operating Officer Tim Smit will stay involved with the company until the end of 2027. Advertising sales for De Jonge Lezer’s media brands will now be handled by Kompas Publishing.

Kompas Publishing currently reaches 8.5 million people in the Netherlands every month through its existing media brands, including Startpagina, Kek Mama, Girlscene and VIVA. The acquisition expands its portfolio with magazines, online communities and events aimed at children and young people. This strengthens Kompas Publishing’s reach across different age groups and offers advertisers new opportunities to connect with target audiences through both online and offline channels.
