Hearst announces acquisition of stake in A+E Global Media

Hearst has announced an agreement with subsidiaries of The Walt Disney Company under which Hearst will acquire Disney's 50% stake in A+E Global Media. The transaction is expected to close in September 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.

Upon completion, A+E Global Media will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Hearst and will be housed within the Entertainment division. A+E Global Media manages brands including A&E, Lifetime, The HISTORY Channel, LMN, FYI and VICE TV. The company reaches more than 414 million households across more than 200 territories in 40 languages. The portfolio consists of TV channels, streaming services, and international activities in content licensing and co-productions.
